Welcome

We are the Walled Lake Church of Christ located at 1403 N. Pontiac Trail in Walled Lake, Michigan. We have prepared this web site to let you know about our congregation and answer some commonly asked questions about us and the good news of Jesus Christ.

We are a congregation of the churches of Christ. We are not affiliated with any denominational but, instead, seek only to be Christians. Our fellowship consists of over one point two million members with over 13,000 congregations in the U.S. alone, with sister congregations on every inhabited continent of the world. The estimated world wide membership of churches of Christ is over three million. Each congregation is governed by its own elders, in harmony with the New Testament. We follow the New Testament as our only rule of faith and practice. We want to speak where the Bible speaks and be silent where the Bible is silent. We want to know God’s will and live it in our lives.

Our Activities

In addition to worship services and Bible classes, we are involved in ministry projects both at home and abroad. We support four stateside mission points in Campton, Kentucky; Detroit, Michigan; Escanaba, Michigan; Marquette, Michigan. We also partner in the work in Guatemala, and help distributing Bibles through Eastern European Missions. We are also involved with our local area and host many community groups in our building. These include Mom & Me Play group, Alcoholics Anonymous, and Al-Anon. We also offer a Vacation Bible School each summer and other activities for children and adults throughout the year.

What Can I Expect?

When you visit the Walled Lake Church of Christ, you will find friendly people, eager to help you find your way around the building and get acquainted with others.   We offer Bible classes for all ages. Each of these classes, for children or adults, focuses on the Bible and how the Word of God applies to our lives every day.

What Do I Do In Worship?

When visiting a worship service for the first time, many people are nervous about making a mistake, perhaps standing at the wrong time, or making an incorrect response. That is a very unlikely accident to happen in our worship, so relax! Our order of worship is printed on the inside cover of the bulletin, so you have time to turn to the proper song before we begin singing. The words and music to our hymns are also projected on a screen so that you can easily follow along. We encourage you to sing with us, blending your voice with ours in praise to God. The communion bread and fruit of the vine will be passed to you and you will have opportunity to participate or merely pass the items on, depending on your conscience. A collection is taken, but you need not feel obligated to contribute. The church is supported by its members and as a guest you are welcome to pass the plate to your neighbor. The sermon will be based on Bible truth and be designed to help you live for Jesus Christ each day. The worship service lasts about one hour, but may have eternal effects on you!

Please blend your heart and mind with ours as we offer up prayers and petitions to God.

God bless you and keep you!
